FAQ

What size are the wall panels?

The panels are 75mm thick and up to 3000mm long X 900mm or 1200mm high.

How do the walls stop noise?

Our walls have excellent sound deadening properties (noise reduction of up to 28 Decibels) due to the acoustic polystyrene core. We have had a complete wall section correctly tested and certified to AS 1191-2002. A NATA certificate is available on request.

How high can I build my wall and does it need council approval?

To date, our Urbanwall range has been pre-engineered to 2.7 metres, Dunewall to 9 metres high and Evowall to 3.6 metres high. These heights can be exceeded by simple engineering on a job by job basis. Each Council may have slightly varying requirements as to wall heights, we recommend that you contact them or visit their website to confirm local requirements. We can supply an engineering sign-off if required by local authorities.

Have you allowed for soil type, terrain category and wind region?

All wall heights have been engineered (with available reports) to suit the required categories and wind regions. We will specify on the quotations and associated drawings, the correct product type for your location.

Who should install the wall?

We recommend a qualified builder or fencing installer. Wallmark will supply complimentary detailed instructions, plans and a DVD to a competent DIY customer.

How fast can I install a wall?

ou should only require 2 people to install 50 metres of 1800 high wall over 2 days on a suitable site. Concrete the posts in on the first day and assemble the wall on the next.

How much should I allow for concrete?

On a 400mm diameter X 700mm deep hole you should allow between $15 - $20 per hole for concrete, depending on if you choose to hand mix the concrete, or order in ready mix via concrete truck. For this size hole it will require approx 0.10 m3 of concrete per hole.

Concrete for a commercial project should be calculated from preliminary drawings based on the engineer specified footing size.

How do I paint my wall?

Please visit the ‘wall finishes’ section on our website for the correct paint applications. Even though our walls will easily withstand the weather, uncoated for many years, we recommend that it is coated within 30 days of installation. Please note that our wall panels must be primer coated whilst dry, immediately after install, if it is in a cyclonic wind region. This is due to the panel strength being lowered if allowed to become very wet whilst in the raw state.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. If the wall is installed correctly to our engineering specifications, we warrant the wall against any defective materials or workmanship for 10 years.

How do I repair any damage to the wall?

The walls are designed to withstand the rigors of everyday life. If there is any accidental surface damage to the wall, it can be quickly repaired with exterior grade filler. For major damage (ie. car crash) the damaged panels can be simply slid out and replaced with new ones.

Can I fix things to the wall?

Yes, by using standard dry wall fixing systems and adhering to their recommended load ratings.

Can I insert a letter box into the wall?

Yes, you can cut a recess in one of the wall panels, insert and seal a 2 part letter box.
